About the Journal
The Indonesian Journal of Sharia and Socio-Legal Studies aims to publish high-quality, peer-reviewed research on the relationship between Islamic law and society in Indonesia and other Muslim-majority countries. The journal promotes socio-legal and interdisciplinary scholarship that examines how Islamic law is interpreted, practiced, institutionalized, and negotiated within social, cultural, political, and legal contexts. It welcomes contributions from scholars and practitioners engaging with Islamic law through socio-legal perspectives, including studies on living fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence); Islamic law and legal pluralism; Islamic institutions and governance; gender, family, and legal inequality; legal consciousness and dispute resolution; and contemporary challenges and technology in Muslim societies.
