Aim |
Journal of Islam, Media, and Society focuses on scholarly research at the intersection of Islamic studies, media, and contemporary social dynamics. The journal aims to critically examine how Islam is represented, mediated, and negotiated across various media platforms, as well as how media technologies shape religious practices, identities, and discourses in Muslim societies. In response to rapid digital transformation, JIMS highlights the evolving relationships between religion and media in diverse cultural and socio-political contexts. It welcomes contributions that explore how both traditional and digital media shape religious authority, public piety, political communication, and everyday Muslim life. The journal adopts an interdisciplinary perspective, encouraging theoretical and methodological approaches from media studies, sociology of religion, anthropology, communication studies, cultural studies, and Islamic intellectual traditions. |
