Retraction and Correction

Policy Statement

The Hadith and Social Culture Studies recognizes the substantial effort invested by authors and reflects this through rigorous peer review. However, articles may require correction, retraction, removal, or replacement for scientific, ethical, or legal reasons in order to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

This policy ensures transparency, accountability, and consistency in post-publication practices while safeguarding the journal’s electronic archives.

Retraction

Retraction may occur when the validity or ethical standing of an article is fundamentally compromised, including but not limited to:

  • Unreliable findings due to misconduct, such as data fabrication or falsification, or due to critical errors.
  • Redundant or duplicate publication without proper justification.
  • Serious ethical violations, including plagiarism, inappropriate authorship, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Following COPE Retraction Guidelines, a retraction notice will be published online and linked to the original article.

Article Correction

A correction may be issued when an article remains reliable but contains errors that require clarification or amendment. Corrections may include:

  • Publisher Correction (Erratum): issued for errors introduced during the production or publication process.
  • Author Correction (Corrigendum): issued for significant author-made errors that may affect interpretation but do not invalidate the findings.
  • Addendum: issued when additional information is required to complement or clarify the original article.
Article Removal

Article removal is reserved for exceptional cases, such as defamatory content, infringement of legal rights, court orders, or serious risks to public health or safety. In such cases, the article metadata will remain available with an explanatory notice.

Article Replacement

If an article poses a serious risk if acted upon, it may be retracted and replaced with a corrected version. The replacement will include a transparent publication history and a clear link to the original version and the notice of replacement.
