Publication Ethics and Misconduct

The Basmala: Journal of Qur'an and Hadith is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, following the COPE Principles of Transparency. This policy governs authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Present accurate, original research; no fabrication or falsification.
  • Originality: Strictly no plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate publication.
  • Authorship: Limited to substantial intellectual contributors; all authors must approve the final version.
  • Ethical Oversight: Compliance with human/animal research standards and informed consent.
  • Declaration: Must sign the Publication Declaration Form.

Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: Based solely on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance.
  • Fair Play: No discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or political views.
  • Confidentiality: Non-disclosure of manuscripts to anyone outside the editorial process.
  • Conflict Handling: Editors must recuse themselves from manuscripts with conflicts of interest.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Objectivity: Provide clear, reasoned, and constructive feedback.
  • Source Acknowledgement: Alert editors to missing citations or suspected plagiarism.
  • Promptness: Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or notify immediately.

Elkuator Research and Publication ensures editorial independence, ethical oversight, and long-term digital preservation of all published content.

Research Misconduct

The journal proactively identifies misconduct (plagiarism, data fabrication) via Turnitin and editorial screening. Allegations are handled objectively via COPE guidelines, potentially leading to retractions or institutional notification.

Licensing

Authors retain copyright under the CC BY 4.0 License. This permits redistribution and adaptation in any medium, provided proper attribution is given.

Concerns regarding errors or ethical issues should be reported to the Editorial Office. The journal is committed to preserving the scholarly record through corrections and retractions where necessary.
