The Journal of Quranic Media Studies (JQMS) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed academic journal published and managed by Elkuator Research and Publication in academic collaboration with IAIN Pontianak, which supports its scholarly activities but does not hold ownership or publishing rights. The journal was first published in June 2026, is published biannually (June and December), and is available as an online open-access journal.
JQMS provides a platform for high-quality scholarship exploring the dynamic interplay between the Qur’an and media. The journal publishes original research articles based on both library and empirical studies that make significant theoretical, methodological, or empirical contributions to Qur’anic studies, media and communication studies, and related interdisciplinary fields. It particularly emphasizes innovative and critical approaches to understanding how media technologies reshape the interpretation, circulation, and authority of the Qur’anic text in contemporary global contexts. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars worldwide and promotes cross-disciplinary dialogue within Qur’anic studies, media and communication, and related fields. Its scope includes, but is not limited to: Qur’anic studies in digital contexts; media, communication, and the Qur’an; digital Qur’an and online religious authority; and the representation and mediation of Qur’anic texts. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must fall within the journal’s aims and scope and demonstrate clear scholarly contributions to the advancement of knowledge in these fields.
